Set up call forwarding before sharing your new number
A practical first-use checklist for receiving calls and placing callback calls from your dashboard.
Your work number and the phone you answer can be different. Forwarding connects an incoming call on your MyNomadToolkit number to the supported phone number saved in your settings.
Save the phone you will answer
- Open your dashboard and find your active phone number.
- Enter a supported forwarding destination with the country code, such as +1 followed by the full US number.
- Save the settings. Use a different number from your MyNomadToolkit number to avoid sending a call back to itself.
- If you have a combined plan, select voice as the incoming mode before expecting calls.
- Ask someone to place a short test call and confirm that the destination rings.
Standard destinations in the contiguous US are supported. A forwarding destination must pass the service checks; do not assume that every number beginning with +1 is eligible.
Place an outgoing callback call
Save your forwarding number first. When you use the dashboard callback feature, the service calls that phone. Answer it to connect the call to the destination you entered. Keep your answering phone nearby, and check the destination before starting.
Keep an eye on your allowance
Incoming and outgoing phone use share the monthly phone allowance. Short test calls also use it. Review usage in the dashboard, especially after changing routing settings. Forwarding relies on your destination phone being reachable, so check its reception and any carrier restrictions when troubleshooting.
Start with one test call before printing the number on business cards or sharing it widely.
